march madness … goat stoppers

The weekend’s activities turned into a ‘target rich’ environment. The loonies have escaped the asylum and wandered into the streets with signs …

Abbott Derangement Syndrome was the most obvious plot:

The lack of focus in these marches is understandable, considering what is mostly upsetting anti-Abbott types. Unforgivably, he has put in place policies that are at the same time protecting Australia’s borders and saving the lives of asylum seekers who otherwise might be tempted to arrive here via dangerous and overloaded boats.

Those protesting against the current successful border protection policies are effectively arguing for a return to the previous government’s deadly lures for people smugglers. The modern left are a strange crowd. They’re also annoyed by a lack of taxpayer handouts to the likes of Holden, Toyota and Qantas, which is a rare display of leftist support for multinationals.

But back to the signs. “Stop the goats” read one demand, with which I think we can all find agreement. There are too many goats and they should all be stopped. Then turned into delicious curry dishes.

More directly, a large banner screamed: “F**k Tony f**k democracy”. No wonder they’re displeased by last September’s election; they’re upset by all elections.

“Superman was a refugee,” claimed a sign held by a stern-looking lass, answering a question only asked inside her own head.

“Thanks for nothing,” howled a big placard depicting Abbott as Hitler, going on to denounce the PM as a “racist, sexist, elitist, homophobic fascist.” The Nazi theme popped up in quite a few protest messages.

This line was interesting: “Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal.” Really? That might be news to anyone who’s heard of the Nuremberg Trials.

Cold and damp weather soaked many of the demonstrators, lending a plaintive aspect to several signs complaining that “Tony Abbott is failing to protect us from climate change.” So buy an umbrella, babies.

These events should be held more often. To facilitate this, I propose changing October to “Stupid Lefty Fun Time.” And then there’s Simon:

Lots more at the link …

Imagine the outcry if Conservatives had done something similar with signs like these. The horror! Of course,  ‘their’ ABC can’t see those signs: [...]The ABC generously publishes 43 pictures of yesterday’s anti-Abbott “March in March” protest to publicise the cause.

UPDATE: Meet the barbarian carrying the “KillAbbott” sign.

Update 2, The ‘Facebookers’ are complaining they can’t find it in the media. Try here: [...] The complainers complain but don’t offer solutions.

Or are they just hurt losing? Even so time those unhappy ones accept we have a Liberal government rather than demanding it’s sacked because Labor didn’t win.
